5-MeO-DMT (5-methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine)

5-MeO-DMT, which stands for 5-methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine, is a psychedelic substance that can be found in the Sonoran Desert Toad as well as numerous plant species. The drug is commonly smoked or insufflated. The effects typically last 10 to 20 minutes when it is smoked or up to two hours if it is insufflated. The drug can lead to a feeling of euphoria and immersive experiences. 5-MeO-DMT commonly goes by slang terms including toad venom, the power, and five methoxy. It has played a role in religious ceremonies as well, most notably the Church of the Tree of Life during the 1970s.
